Happy

Feeling happy? It's the week of July Fourth and I'm pretty happy. Christopher has the week off from school and he's really excited about barbecuing on Friday, making home made ice cream this week and playing with sparklers. His enthusiasm is contagious!

Today I have a 'happy' card to share with you that I created with Pebbles' Garden Party collection.

Taking time to play with paper makes me pretty happy too! I dug out an embossing folder to make raised dots on the white paper. I always get tons of use from nesting shapes...like these hearts from My Favorite Things. The paper pad and sentiment dies are from Papertrey Ink. Lots of fun elements mixed and layered together.

So what will you be doing this Fourth of July week?

If you can sneak away to play with paper and glue and want some patriotic project ideas, this week Bella Blvd. is celebrating with lots of cards, scrapbook pages and decor items. Don't miss it!

Thanks

Hello, hello! It's a beautiful Saturday morning and I'm about to head out with my boys to get some breakfast and then go blueberry picking. It shall be a lovely outing, I'm sure!

Before I go, I want to share a Reverse Confetti card with you created with the adorable Here We Go stamp set and Confetti Cuts along with the Doin' the Wave Confetti Cuts.

This adorable submarine has me humming, "We all live in a yellow submarine...." :) And those Doin' the Wave Confetti Cuts make perfect water waves, don't you think? Cute, cute, cute! And fun!

More to Crochet About

Hello! It's been a little while since I've shared my most recent crochet projects so I thought I do that today. I've been making a few smaller pieces and love that most of them can be made in an evening...instant gratification!

Since it's too hot to wear warm chunky scarves right now I decided to make this summery decorative one. I love this shade of green and the twisty curly design. I'm thinking of making another to wear together. Three would probably make it warm enough for winter...and imagine the color combinations!

I whipped up this little friendship bracelet for our niece who was here visiting last week. Wouldn't a few of these in different color combinations be fun too? The pattern is not in English but can be translated or you can just follow the pictures.

Before we know it autumn will be here and as soon as I saw this adorable little crocheted pumpkin, I wanted to hook it! It's cuter than cute and I think a little trio of them would be perfect for displaying through the fall!

Oreo claimed this one for his own! I suppose every black cat needs a pumpkin? ;)

For my last project share...this frilly little Ball jar topper. Isn't it darling? And guess what? I'm getting to the point with my crocheting that I was able to create this on my own without a pattern. Pretty cool! I'm wondering if I should make a pattern/tutorial? Would you be interested? Leave me a comment....maybe if there's enough demand, I might. :)

I hope you enjoyed my projects and that you feel inspired to pick up a hook! Thanks to all you creative crocheters out there who so generously share these great patterns! The yarn for all these creations is Cascade's 100% Ultra Pima Cotton Yarn. I love that it's all natural and super soft. All these projects were also created with a Clover 3.75 mm F Hook.

Are there any knitters in the house? I've been trying to learn to knit these past few days and oh boy is it challenging! It's like learning to play a guitar or piano where all your fingers have to work together..... Tell me it gets easier? I really felt last night that my hands couldn't move the way they needed to for knitting or that my index finger wasn't long enough! Crochet seemed to be so much easier to learn. Do any of you do both crochet and knit? Any suggestions for me?

July Fourth

The Fourth of July is almost here! I can tell because we've been hearing more fireworks in the neighborhood. Something our cats aren't crazy about...poor babies!

Christopher can't wait for the big day. There's something about staying up late and getting to light fireworks with his dad that really gets him going! As for me I enjoy creating a yummy meal for my boys and making some fun decorations for the Fourth.

Over on the CardMaker blog I have this patriotic project to share with you...hope you can go take a look. Enjoy!

Monday Morning Challenge

Hello! How was your weekend? Saturday was internet appreciation day at our house...meaning we had no internet access so we got to experience just how dependent we are to being connected! lol

For all you paper crafters who enjoy a challenge, you can take Bella Blvd's Monday morning challenge to use five colors from the Scattered Sprinkles collection on a project. With the smaller canvas of a greeting card, it's a little more tricky, but I managed with this dotted design.

I layered the 'Oreo Sprinkles' paper with vellum to give the center of the card grayish affect. Those fun wave die cuts are from Reverse Confetti's Doing the Wave.

For my next card I cut strips of Scattered Sprinkles paper to create a colorful background.

The 'Love You so Much' sentiment is from the Family Forever collection...showing you that Bella Blvd. collections mix and match perfectly!

The crochet heart and grosgrain ribbon bow give this card a lot of yummy texture, don't you think?

This is the happy colorful card I came up with using all the three newest Bella Blvd. collections, Classic Calendars, Scattered Sprinkles and Summer Squeeze

I layered lots of paper, die cuts and stickers...

...and tied them up with a bow. :)

It certainly is a great day to have a good day...it's Friday! I hope you have a fabulous weekend and can pop over to the Bella Blvd. blog and have a look at the sketch and projects.

Special Delivery

It's been a while since I created something with Pebbles' Special Delivery collection so I started the day with a paper play session resulting in this card.

Love the large assortment of die cut tags in this line!

I added a mini safety pin to one of the die cuts and a little green button to another.

This rabbit sticker is darling...and even cutter with a cotton tail, don't you think?

Lots of layers and dimension...my specialty! ;)

I think Special Delivery is perfect for creating adorable baby keepsake cards!

Made in the U.S.A.

Summer starts Saturday and right on cue we're having our first heat wave! Summertime brings hot temperatures, high humidity and lots of trips to the pool along with Fourth of July celebrations. It's also time to create patriotic projects and the Pebbles' Americana collection is perfect!

Stars, stripes, plaids and pinwheels make this card fun for the Fourth! It was a breeze to assemble with all the cool patterned papers, die cuts and already made pinwheels...leaving me with more pool time! :)
